Anime Destiny Team Composition Guide

Optimal team builds for story, bosses, endless, and raids — including budget and whale setups.

Team Building Fundamentals

A well-rounded Anime Destiny squad needs 4 roles: Primary DPS (highest damage output), Shield Breaker (breaks boss shields), Crowd Control (freeze/slow/stun), and Flex (AOE clear, support, or secondary DPS). Most game modes allow 4 unit placements, so every slot matters.

Tip: Don't stack 4 DPS units — without shield breaking and crowd control, bosses will overwhelm you.

Budget Team (Free-to-Play)

For players without Secret units: Red Emperor (Mythic DPS, evolved) + Magicbane (shield breaker) + Insect Slayer (DoT DPS) + Crow Prodigy (early shield breaker, cheap placement). This team can clear Story Acts 1–6 and reach Endless wave 30 with proper upgrades.

Tip: Invest all RR into Red Emperor — it's the best accessible Mythic carry. Equip Warrior Banner artifact for balanced stats.

Mid-Game Team (Mythic Focused)

Once you have 2+ evolved Mythics: Red Emperor (primary DPS) + Ashura Swordsman (DoT + shield break) + Eternal Night (boss killer) + Frozen Moon (freeze CC, if available from banner) or Magicbane (shield break). Equip A-tier artifacts on your two main DPS units.

Tip: Prioritize evolving Red Emperor and Ashura Swordsman first — they have the highest damage-per-RR ratio.

Late-Game Team (Secret Units)

With Secret units available: Shadow Monarch (summon DPS) + Crimson Knight (Dark synergy +30%) + Frozen Moon (freeze utility) + Founding Titan (AOE + boss killer). This is the strongest general-purpose team. The Shadow Monarch + Crimson Knight synergy pair provides sustained Dark damage that scales into Endless wave 60+.

Tip: Equip Demon Shard on Shadow Monarch and Titan Core on Founding Titan for maximum output.

Boss-Specific Team

For Igris and Titan boss events: Eternal Night (crit-scaling boss DPS) + Red Emperor (consistent burst) + Magicbane (x2 shield break) + Frozen Moon (freeze during enrage). Swap Eternal Night's artifact to Shadow Essence for +30% boss damage. Place units in triangle formation around the boss path.

Tip: Berserker Emblem on Eternal Night triggers +28% damage during enrage phase — perfect for sub-30% HP burn.

Raid Team

For cooperative raids, coordinate roles with teammates: Player 1 brings AOE (Founding Titan), Player 2 brings single-target DPS (Red Emperor), Player 3 brings shield breaker (Magicbane), Player 4 brings CC (Frozen Moon). For Demon Raid specifically, swap one DPS for Insect Slayer (Poison ignores 30% DEF).

Tip: Use the official Discord's raid-LFG channel to find players with complementary team compositions.

Synergy Pairs

Synergy units provide passive bonuses when deployed together. Shadow Monarch + Crimson Knight is the strongest pair (+30% Dark damage). Other notable pairs include units that share elemental themes. Always check the Synergy section on each unit's page before finalizing your team.

Tip: Synergy bonuses stack with artifact bonuses — a synergy pair with S-tier artifacts can outperform a team of individually stronger units without synergy.

Smart Spending Tips

  • •Use Jack of All trait on your flex unit — it provides balanced stats that adapt to any situation.
  • •For Endless Mode, prioritize survivability: Iron Shield artifact + Godspeed trait on at least one unit.
  • •Reposition units between waves — the best Story formation isn't always optimal for Endless.
  • •If your team is stuck, check whether the stage has elemental resistances before swapping units.
