NTE's open world is filled with hidden secrets and rewards. This guide will help you efficiently explore every corner of the city.
The core exploration mechanic is "Anomaly Sense" - hold the corresponding button to enter perception mode, which highlights interactable objects and hidden content in a special glow. Use this ability whenever entering a new area to discover hidden chests, anomaly rifts, collectibles, and secret passages.
Exploration priority should follow this order: City Center first (highest chest and collectible density with moderate difficulty), then Commercial and Residential districts (simpler puzzles with decent rewards), and finally High Anomaly Zones and Underground areas (higher difficulty but rare materials and premium chests).
Chests come in four tiers: Common (white), Exquisite (blue), Precious (purple), and Luxurious (gold). Luxurious chests typically require complex puzzle solutions or defeating powerful elite enemies. Each area's total chest count is visible in the map interface's exploration progress.
Puzzle types include: Rune Connection (connect scattered rune nodes in the correct order), Anomaly Purification (clear specified anomaly points within a time limit), and Mechanism Activation (find and activate hidden switches to open secret rooms). Each puzzle type requires different approaches - observe environmental clues for hints.
Efficient routing starts with unlocking all teleport points in an area before detailed exploration. The City Center has the densest teleport coverage. During exploration, collect "Anomaly Marks" to upgrade your Anomaly Sense range and precision, enabling discovery of more hidden content.
Daily exploration should take about 30 minutes. Complete daily exploration commissions first (they guide you to new areas), then collect chests and materials along the route. Check map exploration progress weekly to ensure no areas are missed.
Hidden content abounds in areas not marked on the map. These require specific conditions: certain in-game times of day, specific character abilities, or completing hidden prerequisite quests. Pay attention to NPC dialogue for hints about secret areas.
Exploration rewards: each area has independent exploration progress with milestone rewards at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, including gacha resources, upgrade materials, and limited titles. Full city exploration grants an S-rank selector ticket.
Multiplayer exploration lets you invite friends. Chests and collectibles are independent per player, but hidden Bosses can be tackled cooperatively for significantly easier fights.
